SAHA Regulatory Status, Clinical Governance & AI Safety

Saha Care holds several different relationships with UK regulators, certifiers, standards bodies, and networks — a statutory registration, a third-party certification, a self-assessed standards-met toolkit, a network membership, and a funding-body relationship. These are not the same thing, and we do not present them as one uniform "certified and regulated" status. This page sets out each relationship individually, with links so you can verify them directly, and states plainly where a claim is still pending clinical governance sign-off rather than guessing.

    Regulation, Assurance & Ecosystem

A visual summary of each relationship — see the sections below for the full detail behind each one, including verification links.

    Frequently asked questions

Is Saha Care a regulated pharmacy?

Yes. Saha Care is a GPhC-registered digital pharmacy. Medicines are dispensed by GPhC-registered partner pharmacies, including NHL Pharmacy (GPhC premises 1116346).

Does Saha Care's AI system issue or approve prescriptions on its own?

No. No AI agent may issue, approve, or modify a prescription without human pharmacist sign-off. Saha Care's AI tools provide clinical decision support only — they do not diagnose and do not prescribe autonomously.

Is the AI clinical support tool a registered medical device?

Yes. The "SAHA Clinical Triage and Support System" is registered with the MHRA (Ref. 38301, registered 06/05/2026) as a Class I medical device (GMDN 64275). Registration is not the same as certification, approval, or endorsement by the MHRA.

Is Saha Care registered with the ICO for data protection?

Yes. Saha Care Ltd (Companies House 16807502) holds ICO Data Protection Registration ZC113895.

Is Saha Care Cyber Essentials certified?

Yes. Saha Care holds a current Cyber Essentials certification, verifiable on the public certificate register.

Does Saha Care meet NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit standards?

Yes, as a digital health platform provider. For the 2025–26 publication (Toolkit version 8), Saha Care Ltd has met the required standards (organisation code R0Q6O).

Is Saha Care compliant with DCB0129 and DCB0160?

Saha Care maintains an active clinical risk management process aligned with DCB0129 (manufacturer) and DCB0160 (deploying organisation) — a maintained Hazard Log under our named Clinical Safety Officer, with automated audit-trail testing that verifies each hazard's technical control. A completed formal compliance assessment has not yet been published — see the Clinical risk management standards section below for what is and isn't confirmed today.

Does Saha Care's AI train on patient data?

No. Your identifiable data is not used to train AI models — see the Data protection & AI section below.

Who is accountable for clinical safety at Saha Care?

Sajeel Abrar, Superintendent Pharmacist and Clinical Safety Officer (GPhC-2066354), is the named accountable clinician for clinical governance and AI safety at Saha Care.
